STAFFING
The Health Center is staffed by two physicians, a registered nurse, an outreach public health nurse, a licensed vocational nurse, two community health representatives, and mental health and professional personnel who are experienced and well-qualified in dealing with all aspects of medical and dental care and referrals to all medical/dental specialties. The Health Center staff is dedicated not only to treatment, but to prevention and patient education, and also recognizes traditional Indian medicine and holistic healing.
HOURS

The Medical and Dental Departments are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made in person or by calling 983-6181.

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVAfter Hour Emergencies

The clinic is not a licensed emergency facility. Patients are advised to contact the Covelo Ambulance Service at 911 or go directly to Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits, California.

HISTORY
The Health Center is the result of a pilot project begun in January 1968. It has grown into a well-staffed primary health care program.
OUTREACH PROGRAM
The goals of the Round Valley Indian Health Center's Community Health Outreach Program are to bridge the gap between the Native American people, the utilization and acceptance of all health resources, and to provide access to health education, health awareness, and health maintenance by any innovational method which will help enhance the physical and mental health and wellness of our Indian people.
FEES
Fees are charged on a fee for service basis and are due when services are delivered. Various payment options are accepted by the Clinic. We accept direct payment, private insurance, Medicare, Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal and Hill Burton Agency, and sliding scale fees.
DONATIONS

The Round Valley Indian Health Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing health care to the people of Round Valley. Your support is helpful and vital to insure the continuance and growth of the Health Center. All monies received from contributions are tax deductible.

 

Comprehensive Primary Medical Services

Laboratory Services
The clinic has a full time x-ray technologist and x-rays are available during regular working hours. Laboratory services are available at the Health Center.
Well Child Care
Important preventative steps are offered during the infancy of a child to insure good health during childhood. Immunization against childhood diseases and close observation of the child's mental and physical development are charted and discussed with parents.
Immunizations
All childhood and adult immunizations are provided by the Health Center. The Public Health Nurse maintains and updates childhood and adult immunizations.
Family Planning
The Round Valley Indian Health Center offers comprehensive family planning services to our patients. All methods of contraception are discussed allowing both female and male patients to make the best choice. Confidentiality is respected and there is no age limit nor is parental authorization required.
Dental
Complete general dentistry is offered by the Round Valley Indian Health Center. This includes examination, cleaning, x-rays, fillings, extractions, Endo (root canals), and thorough treatment planning. Referrals to specialists are made as required.
