The
Round Valley Community Theater was founded in 1990 and has intermittently
staged a series of high quality and very popular productions.
No productions however were scheduled from 1994 to 1996, due to
a lack of directors. Productions were resumed in 1997 as noted
below.All production were staged by volunteers who donated hours
of their time and energy to keep theater alive in Round Valley.

In 1990
The Round Valley Community Theater produced Oliver Goldsmith's
18th century romantic comedy, "She
Stoops to Conquer," directed by Brian Burke. We
also produced "Dreams of a Madman," written
and directed by Gary Moore, as well as a children's play,

in 1992
In 1992
the RVCT produced "The Foreigner." Directed
by Brian Burke.
Productions
in 1997
In 1997,
the RVCT returned to full productions with a Commedia dell'
Arte production of "The
Courters" in August during the community's annual
Blackberry Festival. Directed by Brian Burke.
A Readers'
Theater production, "Encounters,"
a collection of various short pieces, was staged in October
of 1997. Directed by Joan Burke.
In December
a multicultural children's Christmas pageant, "Buttons
and Patches," concluded the 1997 season. Directed by
Gayla Hawkins.

in 1998
In the spring
of 1998, the Readers' Theater production began the year with
"Seven
Not So Easy Pieces," a collection of David Mamet
scenes. Directed by Joan Burke.
A mutual
high school / community theater production of "The
Phantom Rider," an old-fashioned American melodrama,
was produced in the summer of 1998 for the Blackberry Festival
and the Labor Day Rodeo. Directed by Brian Burke.
Another
Readers' Theater collection of scenes entitled "On
the Edge" was staged for two weekends in November
of 1998. Directed by Joan Burke.

"Spreading the News" a very funny one act
play was produced in June directed by Joan Burke.
A Blackberry
Festival Production in August of Shakespeare's "A
Midsummer Night's Dream," directed by Brian Burke.
Productions
in 2000
Two one
act plays by David Ives,
"All in the Timing" and "Mere Mortals"
were produced in May. Directed by Tony Tucker.
In cooperation
with Arts Alive!, a school-wide effort to promote the arts,
the Community Theater brought a talented crew of actors from
SPACE, the School for Performing Artsand Cultural Education,
to perform "Teens Testify" and conduct workshops
at both schools.

in 2001
In February
the Theater continued its collaboration with community organizations
to bring the amazing Brigham Young University performance of
"Living Legends" to Round Valley.
The Theater
was recently awarded a grant from the county's Community Prevention
in Action group and is sponsoring several after school dance
groups. A traditional Native American group is led by Shayne
McCloud. A HipHop group is lead by Lauren Tiller, and an Irish
Clogging group is led by Michelle Lambert.
A Blackberry
Festival production is planned for August entitled "Coyote
Tales," which will enact with pantomime, music and narration,
several local and regional Native American stories about Coyote,
the wily trickster.
