| Round Valley Elementary and Middle
School students benefited from a comprehensive after-school
program that offered individual tutoring with homework and
reading. After students completed an hour of academic studies,
Round Valley Indian Housing provided snacks, then sports,
arts, crafts and performance art were offered. Phyllis Azbill
taught basketry and beading.
COMMUNITY PREVENTION IN ACTION and the Round
Valley Community Theater in the fall/winter brought Michelle
Lambert, musician and youth mentor to teach songs after
school to young students in preparation for a youth-filled
AMERICANA CHRISTMAS program in Covelo. Spring brought professional
ballerina Cynthia Huber introducing ballet movement and
steps to eager young dancers.
