Directions of Mine

Where everything is from here,

my color, my breath.

A circle, the simple magnificent power of a

Sacred Hoop, my circle.

I have traveled South, young

searching for my direction

of Life.

Yellow,

because that is where the sun took me.

A bear carried my spirit West.

As it was raining,

I was growing.

Black,

as the night comes.

An old woman called my spirit North.

She wrapped me up with a mighty wind,

and gave me tremendous strength and endurance

White,

like the winter, like the cold.

I woke in the East,

full of wisdom, full of peace.

A new light dawning.

Red,

like the skin and the blood of my people.

At that I recieved a second living.

I found myself, once again in the South.

Yellow,

because that is where the sun took me.
