Bill Cook was the sole proprietor for many years of Cook's Air Taxi. He recently retired from professional flying at age 75, but he can still be found in Round Valley skies in his distinctive yellow Ultralight. He has been living in Covelo since 1965 .He earned his license in 1965. He has accumulated over 10,500 hours of flying time to this date. He offers sight-seeing tours around the valley. In his career, he has made 76 moves in 27 years of federal service. He got started flying as a mapper for the USGS (United States Geological Survey). Bill also flew for the US Forest Service, the California Division of Forestry, and the Bureau of Land Management Over the years, Bill has owned and flown several planes, including a Cessna 205, a Cessna 206, and an Ultralight. His very first plane was also a Cessna. Bill and his son both fly. Bill was born in in Seattle,Washington in 1926 His son was born in Portage, Wisconsin in 1961. Bill's son (G.
