The Eel River has been protected under wildlife laws since 1906. It is now a part of Mendocino National Forest and recognized by the U.S. government as a Wild and Scenic River. Recently it has been discovered that the health of the river and its watershed have been compromised. Now it is time to act, to restore the wildlife that has been harmed. Below are some groups dedicated to the protection and restoration of our river.

The Upper Eel Watershed Forum is a non-profit organization with a board of directors, steering groups, and issue working groups formed to protect and restore the watershed. All members of the watershed are welcome to join in on meetings and workings of the group.
