The Eel River is the third largest river in California. It carves deep canyons down great mountains, through flat valleys, and past majestic and ancient redwood forests. The Eel River spans 5 counties with a total of 3,448 river miles including tributaries. The Eel River Basin drains 3,684 square miles.
