(The Kennedy Center)
A good source of information on arts education, including curriculum development
issues. A joint project of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the
National Endowment for the Arts, and the U.S. Department of Education.
ArtEduTech
ArtEduTech offers thematic units of study integrating art and technology
into K-12 curricula. The text-only site includes program and performance
goals, curriculum units, teacher resources, and Web links to related sites.

Join our "colony of artists" in a nurturing environment where the experienced
encourage the beginners! The Art Center School and Galleries offers the
South Central Pennsylvania community a comprehensive program of art instruction,
workshops, lectures, exhibits and other visual arts.
American Federation of
Arts (AFA)
The site provides a wealth of online educational opportunities for students,
teachers, families, museum professionals, researchers and art enthusiasts,
with links to exhibitions, educational materials and news.
(art)n Laboratory
is a collaborative group of artists formed by Ellen Sandor in 1983
in Chicago. The group was initially inspired by the process oriented works
of Man Ray, Moholy-Nagy and Duchamp, and has created a new process that
combines photography and sculpture with computer graphics called PHSColograms
(pronounced skol-o-grams). This elegant digital medium presents computer
generated content as archival backlit stills that are viewed in 3D without
glasses. This site exclusively features the group's portfolio, archived
literature, exhibition list and studio news for current projects.
Art on the Net
Tour artists' studios, view curated, on-line exhibitions, hear artists discuss
their work, submit your own work, and find out what's happening in the art
world.
Arts & Business
Council
The Arts & Business Council works to "keep the arts in business" by promoting
mutually beneficial partnerships between corporations and nonprofit arts
groups. The Web site serves as an information dissemination vehicle for
those who participate in the Council's New York City programs, as well as
for national and international visitors who seek information about arts
and business partnerships.
ArtsEdNet
Research, publications, advocacy initiatives and wealth of other arts education
resources at this major site sponsored by Getty Education Institute for
the Arts. Tutorials/guides to the Internet and links to museums, education

ArtLex
A dictionary of visual art terminology.
ARTnet
ARTnet, sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Education, offers listserves,
newsletters, programs, and various teacher-to-teacher connections with an
emphasis on discipline-based art education.
The

Here's a Web site designed primarily for children (ages 8 and up), though
teachers will find the activities helpful for curriculum planning. The site
includes activities, books, children's artwork, games, a timeline, and links
to similar sites.

Compiled on this site are useful Web links to art resources covering art

Arts Education
and School Improvement Resources for Local and State Leaders
This guide is intended to help local and state leaders and arts education
practitioners learn about opportunities in U.S. Department of Education

A service of the New York Foundation for the Arts, ArtsWire is a national,
computer-based network serving the arts community. Provides access to a
wide variety of arts organizations and publishes CURRENT, a weekly digest
of news in the arts.

This site serves as a region-wide clearinghouse to provide educators with
information, communications, and planning opportunities for the arts in
education.

Education Materials, Inc.
A publisher of curriculum and educational resources promoting cultural awareness,

Department of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (de Young and Legion
of Honor)
This site provides information on a number of programs for teachers and
students. Offered here are lesson plans and teacher's guides on American

Department
This site has a variety of information for parents, teachers and students.
Featured on the site are art lessons, job descriptions, links to U.S. high
school art departments, children's art, a chat room, and information on
how to join the Art Education Association of Indiana.
Kinderart
This site has a large number of art activities, lesson plans, project ideas,
publications, and bulletin boards for use by K-12 art teachers.

Lesson Plans Page
This site contains a collection of over 300 lesson plans, primarily at the
elementary level, developed by students and faculty at The University of
Missouri. Subjects cover math, science, social studies, art, music, language
arts and physical education. This Web site also accepts user submissions
and provides forums and useful links for educators of all subjects.
The
Lincoln Center Institute
This Web site provides information on the various educational programs of
New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Listed are the Institute's
resources, affiliated institutes, and additional programs at Lincoln Center.
Open Studio, the Arts
Online
A national initiative funded by the Benton Foundation and the National Endowment
for the Arts, the Open Studio funds organizations to train the arts community
to use the World Wide Web for gathering resources, sharing information,
and building new audiences. Open Studio's nationwide network of technology
training sites provides free access and training to artists and nonprofit
arts organizations. The Web site offers training site locations, policy
issues, how-to information, and links to related sites.
Prairie
Visions
Established by the Nebraska Art Education Association and the Nebraska Department
of Education, Prairie Vision's site offers information on state-wide collaborative
programming, and professional development for arts professionals. Also included
is information on the Prairie Partner Schools, six schools that are part
of the Transforming Education Through the Arts Challenge, an initiative
partly funded by the Annenberg Foundation.
Sanford's
A Lifetime of Color
There are many resources for teachers offered on this Sanford product site,
including lesson plans, art activities and games, product newsletters, artists'
biographies, glossaries of terminology, and art demonstrations.

This fee-based Web site, sponsored by Binney & Smith Ltd. and supported
by Britain's National Society for Education in Art and Design, offers curriculum
materials, an image bank, an online magazine, related links, and a forum
for discussion.
The Southeast Center
for Education in the Arts
This site provides resources for teaching visual art, music and theater
in K-12 schools.
STart
STArt provides support for K-8 art teachers. Look to their site for art
activities and resources, as well as links to the National Visual Arts Standards
and the Oregon Art Standards.
Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center
Maui's largest, premiere visual arts center for art study. Classes, workshops

Architecture in Education is a program of the Foundation for Architecture.
AIE's Web site offers classroom activities and information on interactive,
cross-disciplinary projects that help the K-12 student understand what it
takes to make buildings and communities that work for the people who live
in them. Also included are links to related programs, student galleries,
and a forum for discussions.
Art and Physics
This site contains an online synopsis of the book Art and Physics: Parallel
Visions in Space, Time and Light. Juxtaposing the works of famous artists
and the ideas of great thinkers of the fields of science and technology,
author Leonard Shlain demonstrates the similarities between visionary artists
and physicists. The site offers excerpts from the book, reviews, ordering

AskAsia
AskAsia is the Asia Society's online resource for K-12 Asian and Asian American
studies. The site contains classroom-tested resources and cultural information,
games and activities, and links to relevant people, places, and institutions.
Geometry
through Art
This Web site for K-6 teachers offers sample lessons and activities on how
to teach geometry using drawing skills. It includes a vocabulary list, as
well as a listing of workshops and resources for teachers.
Mars Millennium
Project
A national arts, science and technology education initiative, this K-12
interdisciplinary learning project challenges students nationwide to design
an imagined community on Mars for the year 2030. The site offers information
on how to participate in this official White House Millennium Council Youth
Initiative, provides a timeline, as well as a list of cooperation organizations.
Guiding the project are the U.S. Department of Education , the National
Endowment for the Arts, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration,
and the J. Paul Getty Trust.

Geometry
This site offers a program that combines art, math, and science for Grades
4-9 through the study of native American geometry.
Project Zero
The site of Harvard University's Project Zero offers information on the
project's history and its researchers, and lists current and upcoming studies
in the theories of children and adult learning processes. Included here
is information on workshops, symposia, publications, and the work of co-directors
