Quanah Parker, half-breed son of Chief Quanah of the Comanches and the fourteen year old white captive daughter of Mr. Parker of the Parker settlement. He led the Quahadi band of Comanches, the last to surrender in the Texas Plains War of 1874-1875. Tatanka Iyotake "Sitting Buffalo Bull," Wichasha Wakan (holy medicine man) and leader of the Hunkpapa Sioux. Like Quanah, he led the last resistance of his people to their land's encroachment by the white man.
