Ceramics, Sculpture, Photography

Gail Harris grew up back east in Connecticut and says she has always gravitated towards The Arts. Her artistic journey began in high school as she participated as a member of the Yearbook Committee- learning about photography, layout and editing, etc...

She went on to get her BFA at the University of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut- with a major in ceramic sculpture. Gail earned a full scholarship to continue her studies in art at Berkeley and moved to sunny California in 1976. She was mostly inspired and motivated by the chance to study under the famous ceramic sculptor, Peter Vulkos, who was, at the time, the leader in Ceramic Sculpture Abstract Expressionism .

"Lovely Ladies"

Gail married and moved to Covelo with her husband in 1978. She has two children, Ida and H.G.. (who are very artistic and creative as well.) Gail built her own kiln and fires her own clay creations. She enjoys making plates, pots and figurines.

Besides being the greatest pizza cook in Covelo! and being known for her terrific baking and cooking skills, Gail also enjoys photography. She has her own darkroom and gets to process her own film...-yet another world of endless artistic expression.
